Introducing OneBoxBM
A Brief introduction to OneBoxBM (One Box Business Management)
OneBoxBM, One Box Business Management, is an online tool (SaaS) that’s designed to help small business and individuals manage the key elements of their business using one easy to use and affordable package. Our initial idea was to provide an online tool that could allow its users to manage:
- Workforce/Employees
- Clients
- Suppliers/Providers
- Assets/Inventory
- Vehicles
However, in the time between first thinking up OneBoxBM and actually starting work on the project, our initial idea grew to include.
- Workforce/Employee Management
- Client Management
- Supplier/Provider Management
- Assets/Inventory Management
- Vehicle Management
- Time Off/Leave Management
- Appointments
- Bookings
- Customer Order Tracking
- Project/Job Management
- Task Management
- Rota/Shift Management
- Staff Training
- Employee Performance/Reviews
- And more.
Needless to say, taking all of our ideas and actually putting something together proved to be quite a challenge.
Since there was no way that we would be able to actually tackle such a project, certainly not in a reasonable timeframe anyway, we needed to go through our ideas and put something together that was not only achievable but something that wasn’t to diluted to be of use to any potential customers.
Afterall there’s a reason why products and services are often targeted at one specific area of business such as HR (Human Resources), vehicle tracking or task management.
Ultimately, we came back around to something very close to the initial idea which was to allow users to manage their:
- Workforce/Employees
- Time Off/Leave
- Clients
- Suppliers/Providers
- Assets/Inventory
- Vehicles
This doesn’t mean that we’ve ruled everything else out just that right now our goal is to build a product around the areas listed above. Though we are always looking at ways in which OneBoxBM could be used alongside tools dedicated to rota/shift or project/job management.
Now as much as we’ve spoken about building the product, we have reached a point where you can use OneBoxBM to manage your business. Not only that we believe that you can use it with confidence. What’s part of OneBoxBM right now has been full tested and is usable in a live working environment; like most subscription based (SaaS) products on the market it’s an evolving product that is under active development.

We also have a media page which contains a collection of short videos, each providing you with an overview of a specific area of the system; said videos can also be found on our YouTube and Vimeo channels.
Going forward, we’re still working towards implementing asset/inventory and vehicle management, however we’ve recognised that’s there’s also room for improvement in the other areas we’ve already developed, including:

Shared Documents
- You can already attach documents to individual employees, clients and suppliers you can’t however add general documents for all employees, clients and suppliers.

Excel Exports
- You can export your employee, client, supplier and time off/leave data via our admin pages, but it isn’t widely accessible.

Some improved management tools
- We’re going to be adding a way to allow you to create groups of employees, clients, supplier and possibly time off/leave requests.
Once we’ve made those changes, we’ll also be adding a new recruitment section, to further enhance our HR offering.
After that we should be back to the asset/inventory and vehicle management; however, as we’re always looking for way to improve and refine OneBoxBM it’s possible that you might look to make further improvements to existing systems before adding new ones.
