Making the most of OneBoxBM - Time Off/Leave Admin
In this post we'll be taking a look at the time off/leave admin area in OneBoxBM.
This is part of a series of posts that’s designed to help you get the most out of OneBoxBM, to view the index click here.
In OneBoxBM time off/leave management is split between the time off/leave management area and the admin area.
To make your life easier we’re only going to cover the admin area in this post, which includes:
- User Time Off Settings
Note: We’ve also put together some useful help guides to help you manage your supplier data; we’ll reference the specific guides in each section.
User Time Off Settings
Note: You can view the relevant help guide for the 'Time Off Settings Manager’ at the following link.
The user time off settings manager is used to configure the various rules around time off for specific users of the system.
Should you wish for users to receive email notifications whenever time off/leave requests are created, updated or deleted then you will need to configure the rules for the relevant users of OneBoxBM.
However should you prefer users to set aside time to manually check the system then you may wish to stick with the default system settings.
By default every user will receive an email notification when a new time off/leave request has been created or of their existing time off/leave requests have been updated or deleted.
Note: Employees will only receive a notification if they're a user of the system, and there's an email address stored against their user account.
This can be changed, so that they either receive a notification when changes that affect certain employees or groups of employees are made. Or when any changes to time off/leave requests are made.
Now if you manage a small business that has lets say 10 to 15 staff, setting the system to notify you when any changes are made probably isn't going to be a big deal. Your only going to be receiving a few emails here and there, plus your most likely going to be the one responsible for managing the time off/leave requests anyway.
Beyond that, unless your the one solely responsible for managing time off/leave requests, we advise going for a more targeted approach. For example:
-
Kitchen Manager
- Kitchen Staff
-
Floor Manager
- Floor Staff
-
Manager
- Kitchen Manager
- Floor Manager
In this scenario the relevant department managers are responsible for managing the time off/leave for the staff within their department. The manager is then responsible for managing the time off/leave for the department managers.
We hope this gives you some additional insight into how to make better use of OneBoxBM in your business.
